Built on North Mountain

PackRunHQ started with a dog daycare build, not a business plan.

Six dogs and counting

I have six dogs. Six sets of feeding preferences, six vet records, six personalities, and one very loud morning routine. Running a pack that size teaches you fast that good care comes down to the small details, and that keeping track of them is half the job.

The build

So the next step was obvious. There's a 16×24 building going up at the end of my driveway on North Mountain, in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley. Poured concrete slab. Board-and-batten siding. A copper steel roof to match the house. Inside, it's warm farmhouse: cream shiplap, sage, natural wood and plants. There's boarding, daycare, and a bath and grooming area. No glass kennel doors, because dogs should feel like they're somewhere good, not on display.

The problem

Building the space was the easy part. Figuring out how to run it was harder. Bookings, vaccination records, feeding notes, who's in which kennel, who's picking up when, who owes what. I looked at the software out there and couldn't find anything I actually wanted to use every day.

So I started building it.

Why PackRunHQ is different

I'm my own first customer. PackRunHQ is the system my daycare will run on, so every screen has to work for a real front desk on a real morning: dogs barking, a parent in a hurry, a vaccine that expired last week. If something's slow or confusing, I'm the first one who suffers.

Why your data is safe here

My day job for the last 26 years has been cybersecurity. I've worked more than 600 incident-response cases and spent years working with the RCMP and other law enforcement agencies to stop online crime. I've seen what happens when a small business loses its client data, and it's not pretty.

Your clients trust you with their dogs and their personal details. PackRunHQ is built so you can keep that trust: encrypted data, two-step verification on every account, records that only your own team can see, and security decisions made by someone who's cleaned up after the alternative.

Where we're headed

PackRunHQ is brand new. Right now I'm looking for a small group of founding facilities to help shape what we build next. If you run a boarding, daycare, grooming or training business and you're tired of fighting your software, I'd love to talk.
